Callie's Pet Memorial Continued
The Big Guy loved me the most !!! He let me sleep on his bed, lick his face, roll on the floor with him and even when I made him sneeze, he still loved me… Teresa would put up with me sleeping on the bed once in a while, even after I tripped her in the kitchen… He always took me to Hunting Camp and other fun places and introduced me to lots of people and other dogs. Whenever he was gone for a while I was always the first one he would love up. He’d even call on the phone to check on me. I’ll always be there at Hunting Camp, Big Guy. If you listen close, I’ll be barking at the deer down by the feeder.
Dad would always let me lay under his recliner – and scratch my head whenever I walked by. He’d always stick up for me when I was in trouble. He never got mad when I pushed open the bathroom door when he was in there. He’d let me out and feed me and I knew he loved me too.
Mom, well she chased me around with the vacuum cleaner ‘cause I was always shedding hair.. But whenever I had itchy skin, or sore ears she was the one to fix me up. I always tried to get out of taking a bath by giving her the “sad eyes”– it never worked -- but I looked and felt better after my bath. So I know she loved me too.
My favorite place to go to have a sleepover was at Marci and Steve’s, I got to pal up with Tanner and hang out with Sara and Emily. I was happiest when I could climb in Marci’s car and go home with her. I could eat Tanner’s food and she ate mine – I tried to go home with them every time they came to visit. There was no doubt they all loved me.
Whenever Stacy & Paul and their family came for a visit – she always had time to kneel down on the floor and love me up and called me Kalamazoola… So Carson, Lily and Sonia called me that too. I wagged my tail too hard a few times and “swiped” them all in the face – but they all still loved me.
Papa was my pal – he was my “dogsitter” whenever my family went away – he fed me let me out and even let me sleep on the floor in his room, especially if it was thundering. I always got the last bite of whatever he was eating…
Lastly, thank you Dr. Thornborrow for taking care of me all these years. For trying to make the itching stop, for fixing my ears with medicine and helping to keep me healthy. You always hugged me when you came in the room and if you had to stick me with a needle. I always knew you liked me too.
I know everyone will miss me – but don’t be sad too long. I had a great time with my family and thank you for loving me enough to know when it was time to let me go…I was always nice to my family and they were nice to me.. I was a Lucky Dog…. I know I left my footprints in your hearts !!! There’s a special place for friends like me ---------- and I’m there ……
